Caverna de las Brujas

The cave is located on a Jurassic formation of calcareous rocks of marine origin. In the vicinity of the entrance there are exposed strata with fossil evidence of gastropod mollusks, dominant species in the Jurassic and Cretaceous. The shapes of the various galleries in the cave were formed by the action of water on calcareous rocks, which has eroded deep underground galleries and created, through the deposit of saline materials in a state of dissolution, various very unique forms of stalactites, stalagmites, veils, columns, coral formations, etc. Some of the sites that tourists visit are the Sala de la Virgen, La Gatera, La Sala de la Estalagmita Gigante and Sala de los Encuentros.
