HISTORIA
Malargüe is characterized by a temperate and arid climate, with Patagonian nuances in the south, desert in the east and high mountains in the west. These characteristics mean that the thermal amplitude is present in all seasons of the year, this is evidenced in the records of maximum and minimum temperatures in winter and summer. In winter the minimum temperature recorded has reached -23.5 ° C and the maximum 28.3 ° C. In summer the maximum temperature has reached 36.5 ° C and the minimum 0.5 ° C. The average annual temperature has risen to 13 degrees in recent decades, making the climate milder for most of the year.
Precipitation is present mainly in spring and autumn in the form of rain and snow in winter. In recent decades rainfall has had a notable increase, while snowfall has decreased.
The zonda wind is the most common wind in Malargüe. It can be present at any time of the year, but it is more frequent in winter and its speed increases significantly.
Throughout the year, especially in the summer, solar radiation is very high, so it is recommended to constantly use sunscreen, drink water constantly to avoid dehydration and avoid exposure during the hours of greatest solar radiation in summer.
