Cosmic Ray Observatory

Cosmic Ray Observatory

It is located at Av. San Martín Norte 304

Malargüe is a scientific tourism hub that includes the largest Pierre Auger Cosmic Ray Observatory in the world, an astrophysics observatory for studying very high-energy cosmic rays. These cosmic rays are subatomic particles that come from outer space, and their study allows us to understand very energetic phenomena that occur in the cosmos.

The visitor room offers a permanent interactive exhibit free of charge. Visitors will receive a guide to tour the room, which has scientific material such as: real-time detectors, models, videos, and detailed posters that allow them to understand the objective and work of the observatory.
