Las Loicas

Las Loicas is made up of a leafy grove, lying on the south bank of the Río Chico, 105 km from the city of Malargüe. The town is accessed by National Route 40 south to Bardas Blancas (65 km) and after crossing the bridge over the Río Grande, you can access National Route 145, which leads to the Pehuenche International Pass.

Currently, there are about 250 people living there. It has a health center, Bernardo Houssey primary school that houses about 40 children, a camp of the Provincial Roads Directorate, in whose building the immigration, phytosanitary and customs control agencies are established, while the Pehuenche Pass is open. It has warehouses, a dining room, cabins, rental apartments and a campsite.

The place is very visited by tourists due to its proximity to the International Pass, the Cajón Grande hot springs, the Los Castaños and Real del Pehuenche rest stops, and also the start of National Route 226 which leads along the west bank of the Rio Grande to the Noble Valley, the El Azufre hot springs, and the Planchón Vergara pass. Visitors and fishermen who try their luck in the area are favored by large groves, camping sites, and rest stops that invite them to pitch their tents and have a cool drink in the middle of the mountain.
