The Laguna Llancanelo Wildlife Reserve is a wetland with an area of ​​650 square kilometers located 75 km from the city of Malargüe on Route 186 and 1,280 meters above sea level, within the arid region near the Andes.

It is a provincial nature reserve that is home to a wide variety of bird species, including flamingos, black-necked swans, herons and ducks. The lake has been part of the Ramsar Convention since November 8, 1995 and is a protected area for maintaining biodiversity.

Llancanelo is a special place to go on a photographic safari, bird watching and enjoy the majestic charm of nature. To visit this reserve, you must request entrance tickets in advance on the official website of the province of Mendoza (www.mendoza.gov.ar) and you will also be required to be accompanied by a licensed guide. This excursion is estimated to take approximately 6 to 8 hours, round trip from Malargüe.
